The Meyers grew up on farms in west-central Minnesota. In 1969, Linda graduated from Concordia College in St. Paul, Minn., with a degree in elementary education. They were married that same year. Delano graduated from North Dakota State School of Science with an associate degree in civil engineering. He attained the rank of captain in the U.S. Armed Forces while serving in Germany and Vietnam. After his military service, Delano and Linda farmed in Minnesota until 1994. They are members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, LC-MS, in Herman, Minnesota.
The Meyers have two grown children, Laura graduated from the University of Minnesota at Morris (UMM). She is married to Ray Thielke and works at the University of Minnesota at Morris Alumni Office.
Brian graduated in 1997 from North Dakota State University with a degree in construction engineering. He is married to Emily and they have two children, Drew and Meg Leann.
The Meyers enjoy hunting, fishing and traveling.
