MARCH MINUTES
Bethlehem LWML met Thursday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. with eight members present.
Pastor Buchs led our Quarterly topic, "Not What We Expected." It was very good, and gave us much to think about.
Minutes were read and approved. Our Treasurer's report showed a balance on hand of $293.04.
Reports were given by the different committees.
We discussed visiting the Barrett Nursing Home. Gayle is to talk to them about either April 2 or 3. We will furnish bars as needed.
It was decided in regard to repairing the hymnals that actually not many are in need of repair at this time.
Our spring church cleaning will be done after the painting and carpet laying.
The Orphan Grain Train will be putting out a detailed list of the many things they can use to fill their truck at the LLL Spring Rally. We will collect items at our church and then deliver to Morris. We will send some quilts to that mission project also.
In talking to Delano and Linda about what their needs are, it sounds like money is the best option and, of course, our prayers and letters.
The donation of money we made to the Seminary Food Bank seemed to be really appreciated, so we discussed a way to make another donation -- maybe a "30 pieces of silver" offering.
We are also going to have quarterly collections of food for the Grant County Foodshelf.
The LWML Spring Rally will be held in Campbell on April 21 starting at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Domke of Fergus Falls will speak on "Angels Among Us."
We discussed purchasing new tablecloths. Iloise and Peggy are to look into this.
On May 2 we are planning to have a Spring Salad Luncheon. Marilyn Englund will head a committee to plan this. We need a few more to help.
Tom Volker will be ordained on June 14 at Bethlehem at 7:00 p.m. We discussed the stole we would like to get or make for him. Karen Buchs will head a committee to work on this.
After the Christian Growth Feature by Marilyn Englund and Karen Werk, the meeting was adjourned.
